Florida title insurance calculator
Estimate an original owner’s policy premium, then ask for the complete title and settlement figures for your property.
Estimate your title insurance premium
Florida title insurance rates are promulgated — set by the state — so you can estimate your owner's policy premium with confidence. Enter your purchase price for an instant estimate, then contact us for an exact, all-in quote.
Need figures for a lender's policy, simultaneous issue, or a seller net sheet? Reach out — we'll run the numbers for you the same day.
Estimate based on Florida promulgated owner's title insurance rates. Excludes endorsements, title search, closing fees, and simultaneous-issue lender policies. Not a quote or commitment to insure.
Know which number you are calculating
This tool estimates the original owner’s title insurance premium for the coverage amount entered. It does not calculate a lender’s policy, endorsements, a reissue credit or every charge due at closing. If you have a prior owner’s policy, send it to your closer so any applicable rate treatment can be evaluated.
How the original premium is estimated
The calculation applies a tiered schedule to the policy amount. For example, $450,000 of original owner’s coverage produces an estimated $2,325 premium. That is the risk premium illustrated by this tool, not a complete closing quote.
| Portion of coverage | Rate per $1,000 |
|---|---|
| First $100,000 | $5.75 |
| Next $900,000 | $5.00 |
| Next $4 million | $2.50 |
| Next $5 million | $2.25 |
| Above $10 million | $2.00 |
A $100 minimum premium applies. Final policy coverage and rate treatment must be confirmed for the actual transaction.
What the estimate leaves out
Searches, settlement services, recording, taxes, endorsements, lender coverage and third-party charges are separate. Reissue, simultaneous-issue and other special rate treatments can change the policy figures. The price in a sales contract and the amount of a particular policy also need not always be identical.
Who pays the premium?
The purchase contract allocates the cost. Ask your closer to identify the specific provision instead of assuming the same party pays in every Florida transaction. The closing-cost guide separates the premium from other costs; the seller net sheet helps with proceeds planning.
